Luísa has a BSc in Biomedical Laboratory Sciences (2016-2020) and is currently a Master Student in Molecular Medicine and Oncology at FMUP. For her master thesis she is going to work on the identification of novel regulators of ciliogenesis in C. elegans under the supervision of Dr. Tiago Dantas and Dra. Carla Abreu at the UniGENe lab (i3S - Institute for Research and Inovation in Health of the University of Porto). She is also an Assistant Researcher at the Ipatimup Diagnostics Molecular Pathology Lab (2020-currently) where she works with several types of biological samples for dissecting the molecular signature of tumours. In her curriculum she has multiple curricular internships in major hospitals and an international internship as an ERASMUS student at Cattinara Hospital (Trieste, Italy). For her BSc final year project she has studied the BRCA2 homologous protein during the development of C. elegans, also under the supervison of Dra. Carla Abreu.
