- 2010. I obtained my PhD from the Faculty of Biology of the University of Vigo (Spain), under the supervision of David Posada, European Doctorate - sobresaliente cum laude - Best Thesis Award.
- 2010-2012. Postdoc at the Laurent Excoffier Lab in the University of Bern (Switzerland).
- 2012-2015. Postdoc at the Bioinformatics Unit of the Centre for Molecular Biology “Severo Ochoa” (CSIC) in Madrid (Spain).
- 2015-today. Researcher of the IPATIMUP in Porto (Portugal).

Highlights

My research involves a variety of lines related with evolution: Population genetics, molecular evolution, phylogenetics, ancestral sequence reconstruction, molecular adaptation, computer simulation, approximate Bayesian computation, virus evolution, human evolution. Currently I am also involved in the population genetics of cancer.
